Shifting sand ahead of summer

After a well deserved break in April, following a busy winter training for pool comps, the club is back on the beach now until October.
Getting ready to fully reopen the hut was no small feat. Possibly a record amount of sand had been dumped by the winter storms in front of the hut and over the beach access. A lot of time and effort from some solid volunteers meant that access was restored and things are looking ready for summer!
Ongoing problems with the generator and clubhouse loo have plagued a couple of club members – problems seem to be fixed now but at significant expense of both time and money. Huge thanks to those who took on tackling this not very pleasant but very important job.
We have been delighted with the response to our call for new members. Over the winter a steady stream of new faces of all ages have dropped into training sessions and hopefully already feel part of the team. We’re looking forward to everyone getting together to crank up the new BBQ, get the volleyball going, dust off the boards and make it another summer to remember.
Looking ahead, we are already deep into planning the National competition which will be hosted at the Bay of Dreams in August. It’s looking like it might rival Boardmasters at this stage so keep your diary clear!
