Club Facilities

Our Club Hut is approximately 225 square metres and club facilities include a purpose built lifeguard base station equipped with a medical room; Male and female changing rooms with showers, a large equipment storage area including a mezzanine floor, and we also have external showers.

Within the main hut area we have a selection of benches and a kitchen area. There is a table tennis table, a dartboard and a multi-gym. We also run regular exercise session so have exercise mats available for floor exercise. This is the area where we can deliver lessons and courses and socialise when the weather is not so great.

There is always at least one gas barbecue available and this is often at the centre of an evenings socialising.

Of course our greatest asset and most important facility is the beach itself and the Atlantic Ocean, which laps at its shore. Gul Rocks or Carter’s rocks adorn the horizon and make a much better paddle course than any surf life saving event can offer.

When the hut is dug out of the winter sand it sits subtly at the foot of the dunes with a level platform for training and socialising upon which we can fit 2 volleyball courts (until the wind takes the sand away again). From this platform club members can enjoy a good game of volleyball or simply sit and chat or barbecue. It is a hive of activity with members of all ages buzzing around enjoying Holywell Bay and its many benefits. With and sometimes without knowing, from this position it is easy to spot an incident or potential problem, many problems are averted before they happen with a little vigilance and good advice.
