Pool comps and a fundraiser!
Competitions fell early this year for all Surf Life Savers – juniors travelled to Plymouth and Nippers to Cardiff – for the annual national pool champs.
Everyone did so well – great team spirit was shown as usual, with a solid all round performance at both events.
Next up is the Cornish Stillwater comp in Penzance for Nippers. Comps are a huge commitment for competitors, coaches, volunteers and families so well done all for the work put in over the winter in the pool and good luck – let’s hope it all pays off!
Thanks also to everyone who attended and supported our Johnny Cowling fundraiser also this month at Cubert village hall. We managed to raise an impressive £1200 for the club! Hopefully everyone enjoyed it.
And one more thanks and well done to those responsible for sorting out beach access. Tonnes of sand had shifted this winter, making it tricky to get a truck around to the hut, but thanks to some impressive digger action – access is restored!
We will be back on the beach now before long and new members are always welcome. If you want to know more, email us to arrange a free trial session this spring.
This summer is going to be a really special one for our club as we are hosting the national beach competitions for all ages in August. It is going to be an incredible event – so please do come and get involved!
