Emily White represents!
Holywell Bay SLSC are extremely proud that our newly appointed Junior committee representative was asked to represent Surf Life Saving England last weekend! Please see the small report Emily kindly wrote below:
Last weekend I competed in Wales representing England on Sunday and for trials to represent the Great British team on the Saturday. Being eligible for the Junior (under 17s) and open I had a very busy weekend competing in both age groups eg. endless rounds of flags with no break. My best results over the two days were 1st in flags from the Junior age group, and 2nd in Flags in the Open as well as a first in the relay and first the four man tube rescue (first time I’ve heard of the ‘four man’ as well ?)
Competition was very fierce being up against women who have been abroad training in preparation for these events (as one of them informed me on the starting line – brill.) The weather on Sunday was particularly foul, but overall the England team came out on top with the England women scoring more points than England men!
This experience has made me very motivated for the rest of this season, and to really get stuck in at training. See you all at the beach!
