Surf Series 2015 Round 1 Portreath Friday 8th May

Typical cold windy conditions welcomed the nipper, juniors and seniors to Portreath for round 1 of the Surf Series and “The Eliminator”.

The Eliminator for Nippers; a grueling “Devil take the hindmost” series of races. After each round the board riders at the back of the pack were eliminated leaving the final three to battle it out for top honours. Once the nippers had grasped the need to conserve energy in the early rounds they set to work. Great performances by  Ben, Evie , Isobel,  Jessie, Oli and Toby were followed up by some great racing from Lewis, Jay and Joe in 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th place respectively. Well done all the nippers who participated.

Next up were the 14s in the invitation Surf Series. Great racing from Iwan in both board race and surf race (swim)

And then to the Surf Series, an opportunity for Juniors and young seniors to race early in the season in preparation for bigger events later on. Well done to Jess, Emily and Rosalie who were selected to compete, they threw themselves into competition. Emily placed well in both sprints and flags.
