Clubhouse Sign Unveiled
Holywell Bay Surf Lifesaving Club has celebrated the start of their summer season with the unveiling of their renovated clubhouse exterior and new sign. Cubert Parish Council granted funding for the work using money obtained from a trust generated by the solar farm at Trevemper. Part of the solar farm development contract is to provide funding for local community projects in Crantock and Cubert. The funding is administered by the Parish Council and awarded to appropriate schemes without using any parish council money.
The surf club used the grant to replace existing external wooden cladding with timber that is predicted to last about 50 years. A new sign was erected to complete the new look clubhouse. The club itself raised funding throughout the past year to completely redecorate and refurbish the interior.
Cubert Parish Councilor Lloyd Spencer officially unveiled the work in front of Nippers, Juniors, Seniors, parents and helpers after training on Saturday afternoon. Club chairman Steve Peck thanked the Parish Council for their help and support in keeping the local community safe.
